Collin Johns said WHAT about MLP? Leaked Letter.

Collin Johns holds nothing back in his rant against MLP. 

As of August 1, 2024, an email opening with "I despise MLP for a variety of reasons," allegedly written by Collin Johns, is all over the internet. 

The email doesn't hold back. Collin Johns proceeds to lay out a variety of reasons for his disdain - the MLP draft, the Vulcan ball, the lighting at the Picklr, paddle testing, the crowd...you name it, he blames it.

So what's the backstory?

Ben Johns previously finished 2023 as the number one ranked player in the world in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. 

As Pickleball News Source The Dink put in back in March of 2024, someone was "going to blow their whole budget to get Ben Johns." And that's exactly what happened.

The Seattle Pioneers swooped up #1 draft pick Ben Johns for a whopping 840,000 out of a total 1 million 'draft points,' leaving the Pioneers out of luck when it came to drafting higher ranked teammates.

Collin, the #47 draft pick, was picked up for the same team.

In June of 2024, the Seattle Pioneers were suddenly transferred across the country to the newly formed Carolina Pickleball Club, in a move some found confusing. 

At present, the Carolina Pickleball Club consists of brothers Ben Johns and Collin Johns, and female players Jessie Irvine and Brooke Buckner.

For the Johns brothers, things recently took a turn for the worst at the 2024 Vulcan MLP Salt Lake City tournament.

Day two of the tournament involved what some have called an embarrassing loss against the Dallas by Carolina. Day three involved another crucial loss by the Johns brothers to Navratil and Howells (who have one of the worst records in the MLP).

Carolina's last game of the tournament ended in a loss, which included a harrowing 25-13 defeat of the Johns brothers. Then came Collin Johns letter.

Does Collin Johns' email make some important points? Sure. But they are heavily overshadowed by what some on Reddit have described as "whiny and entitled" complaints.

As another Reddit user put it, "if I were Jessie or Brook, I would start popping the ball up so Collin can get body bagged." 

We can't say we are for physical violence but...come on, dude. Don't throw your female teammates under the bus for your poor performance.
